Daytime Telly, You're My Friend (Dan Lain Lain)

Being a bit of a lazy arse today, thus lumping all updates into one entry. We've also officially exceeded our broadband bandwidth, so the connection is worse than a bloody dial-up. Better to get all this out in a go before the bandwidth finally dies on me.

After much deliberation, Tim and I have decided to not move out of our current shared abode until after his exams. It was actually my suggestion. Ironic, isn't it, since I was the one who was making so much fuss about it? What to do, one's got to be practical. At this point, with the bad home-buying market in Australia just now, it just isn't feasible for us to jump right into it. Even home rentals have gone up. Anyways, Tim does not need the distraction now, not before his exams. After the exams in August, then we'll see from there.

Please remind me of the practicality of our decision again if I do start moaning about it once more. I know I will. It isn't easy, y'know, what with us being newly-weds and all. Gah.

On the job front - still nothing. Resumes have been sent out, and so far, it's been rejection after rejection. It's getting pretty frustrating. I'm placing all this into the Lord's hands. I have faith that He'll pull me through this.

In order to fill up my time, I've been trying my hand at cooking and, for the very first time, baking. The last time I actually helped to bake something was 6 years ago, when I was still a university student, helping my housemate at baking cakes (gotta help if I wanna eat 'em).

Made a batch of 12 triple chocolate chip muffins yesterday. It came out just the way as I like my muffins, crispy on the front, and soft inside. Yum yum.

I just love how dramatic Americans can be. But then again, hours and days of infomercials, Dr Phil and Oprah can do something funny to your mind. (o_O)

I'm f**king hooked to f**king Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares. You the man, yo!

The long Easter weekend starts tomorrow (till Monday), and the weather forecast for the weekend's good. YAY! Not able to do any stay-over trips though because everything's fully booked. Reckon we'll do a day trip, like to Yarra Valley or something. See how lah.

PS: By the way, this is my 500th post. Wah

Random Ramblings of the Day

This week's my last at the office. Man, I have a lot of junk accumulated the past four years. It's going to take me a couple of days to clear out my things. Feeling a tad melancholic though. My colleagues think I'm nuts 'cos they're green with envy that I'm leaving, and not them :p

****************

I received a terrifying email from my uncle in the US today. My uncle, aunt and cousin got robbed at gunpoint in their HOME last night (in the garage, just after they parked their car and got out). Thank God that all the robber took was money, and left immediately. They rang the police, sniff dogs came, even helicopters were dispatched to find the car which my uncle spotted and noted of the license number. All are safe, and even though the locks were changed overnight, their safety's been violated *shudder*.

****************

I broke my glasses again. This is the second time in a year. Both pairs were rimless. Guess what I bought this time? Yep, another pair of flimsy rimless glasses. I never learn, do I? *sigh*

****************

It's 26 days to the wedding. And 19 days to the reception in the Penang. I still have so many items not done. And since I've been so stressed out, I can't stop shoving food into my mouth. Why can't I be one of those bride-to-bes who can't eat a thing nearing the wedding??

Random Ramblings of the Day

Here's another round of random thoughts and rants as I'm currently just too busy to come up with a proper subject-specific post.

Another fatal bus accident. Another blacklisted bus and driver. Holy smokes, how is it that after the first one, bus companies and the police do not check the buses?? It's exactly as Zewt predicted, if not a week early; it's just another forgotten accident. Seriously, I smell a lot of hanky-panky going on here, and not the good kind.

*******

Thank goodness the Gwen Stefani concert wasn't canceled. So people, did any of you who went to the concert commit sins? :p

*******

Equatorial Hotel just sent me their wedding invitation cards (given free of charge with the package), and they are UBER ugly. I mean, god-awful, pukingly orange ... crap. Argh. Will blog a proper one on that later. Still, there goes my hope on saving money on invitation cards.

*******

I normally do not like to blog about people at my workplace, but really, some people are driving me nuts, and not in a good way. Undermining my authority as a senior, and being disrespectful. Just because I'm nice, my head gets climbed over. Gah.

*******

The weather's driving me nuts. Gosh, I seem to always talk about the weather when I do these rambling bits, don't I? But it does. It's gloomy, and a tad chilly in the mornings, and you'd think that a storm's a-brewing due to the thick and heavy clouds looming. Closer to lunchtime, the sky's perfectly blue and devoid of clouds, and is bloody HOT. Just hope I don't fall sick. I tend to, when the weather's wonky, and I get heaty.

*******

Still haven't packed for my weekend in KL. Lots to do, lots to do. On the bright side, I'm taking the whole of next week off to settle some wedding stuff and also to bring Tim around Penang. Yay!

*******

T-minus two days till he's home.

Random Ramblings Of The Day

Ugh. Monday again. I definitely woke up on the wrong side of the bed today, thus in a god-awful mood. I hardly slept last night, totally emo over nothing. Woke Tim up at 2am his time just to tell him I couldn't sleep. Bless that man for not switching his phone off on me, yet so patient with me. Yeah, it's that time of the month. Woe betide anyone who pisses me off for the next few days, eh?

*******

I was just looking out the office window and realised that the haze is back. What gives?!

*******

I have a sudden craving for bak kut teh. Yumm.

*******

For those who recently visited my blog, hi hi! So glad to have you here, hope to see more of y'all again. Thanks for the lovely comments and well wishes on my upcoming wedding. You can check out my wedding rants here.

Random Ramblings Of The Day

Yay, it's Friday once again. So looking forward to the weekend to just relax and unwind.

*******

Wedding stuff have been driving me up the wall for the past couple of days. Thank God I've calmed down. Bloody technicalities :(

*******

It's been so freakin' hot this week. It's like a bloody sauna outside. Plus, somebody had the brilliant idea of turning up the temperature of the air-conditioner at the office. What gives?!

*******

Bloated
I'm feeling all bloaty and fat and ugly, and it's not even that time of the month. I need a hug :(

*******

All these talks about Malaysian bloggers having to register their blogs with the government and whatnots are a whole lot of nonsense. Talk about infringing on and suppressing our freedom. In a way, I'm glad I'm using Blogger and not a locally-hosted site, although I have serious plans for it. But that's not the point. Give us freedom of speech, yo! Gah!

*******

It's Good Friday, people. Time to do some serious reflection.

*******

50 more days before I see Tim in Melbourne again. Man, how time crawls when you want it to go faster. Tick tock tick tock ...

Have a good weekend, folks.

Random Thoughts Of The Day

From the past couple of entries, guess you can tell I've not been feeling all peaches and cream. Real glad to have my fiance to talk to about my problems; at least there's a place to unload, and it's even better that he's been real understanding about me (thanks babes). Also thanks to Bea, who texted me and understood what I was going through too. Thanks girl.

*******
Gotta stop the emotional posts; damn, I'm starting to depress myself (and everyone else, no doubt).

*****
Is it weird that I'm listening to Christmas songs at the office during this time of the year? Yeah? Okay.

*****
Looking forward to going to Japan, but too bad don't have enough time to shop. Drats.

*****
Need to save money. Stop thinking about shopping.

*****
Collected my new pair of glasses yesterday (no choice, had to buy, as the previous one snapped into two. And no, I did NOT sit my big ass on it). Nice pair of rimless ones. The nose pads are cutting into my skin though. Gah.

*****
In dire need of a pedicure and hair treatment, no thanks to cracked heels and dead-grass hair.

*****
Hmmm ... what to eat for lunch?

Random Ramblings Of The Day

So glad it's Friday. The boyfriend is finally coming home for the Chinese New Year holidays tomorrow. I haven't seen him in four months ... and boy, it sure was a long wait. Takes a lot of hard work to keep the fire going in a long-distanced relationship. Especially when you're going through rough patches on your own. I'm very excited to seeing him again this Sunday (duh, obviously :p).

*******

The bosses belanja-ed everyone in the department mandarin oranges today in light of the upcoming festive season. Yay, free kum!

*******

My project won RM600 at a company-wide technical assessment, which is to be divided amongst three project members. Cheh, was really expecting a lot more (at least a four figure sum). Geram.

*******

Why are there no decent Chinese movies for the Chinese New Year season?! Are there even any?

*******

Anna Nicole Smith died. Shocking.

*******

Man, the time sure drags when you're just waiting to go home.
